Great Tit nest box
A fifth chick hatches in the monitored nest box, pushing its way out of the shell. Parent bird returns with a caterpillar, which it chews flat to feed to the other newly-hatched chicks. Video ends with parent sitting on top of nest, providing insulation. In further videos, the parent is seen eating discarded egg shells (recycling protein), the chicks are seen being fed and growing, and the parent bird can be seen clearing out fecal matter from the nest. |

Great Crested Grebe nest
On a nest on Edgbaston Pool, a male sits on top of the nest, but is attacked by a rival male who had been loitering near the parent male and female. Several eggs are in the nest. Other videos and images have captured head-shaking between the male and female when reuniting (part of a courtship display), the young in the water, and riding on their parents' backs. |

Coot nest
A parent (female) coot site on her nest, again at Edgbaston pool, calling out as the male approaches bringing more reeds as nesting material. Several videos have captured coot behaviour, including sounding of alarm calls, diving for food, and young out on the water and in the nest. |

Bullfinches at main feeder
A male (pink) bullfinch feeds at the main feeder, before being displaced by an incoming (brown) female. The main feeder attracts many woodland birds, including Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Greenfinch, and the usual Blue and Great Tits. Robins, Sparrows, Wagtails, Goldcrest, Whitethroat and Blackcap are often heard nearby. |
