'Nature in Action' is all about one of the keys to good wildlife photography: something interesting doing something interesting. As this is possibly the most difficult category in which to enter an image, entries are judged either on the clarity of the moving subject, on the interest of the behaviour in which the subject is engaged, or the mood of the picture as a whole. Outstanding entries will manage to capture more than one of these criteria.
'Nature in Action' replaces the 'Birds' category of the competition's first generation.
